Rustic Southern Maryland Wedding | C + A

Courtney and Alec had the most spectacular rustic Southern Maryland Wedding last Saturday at Far Cry Farm in Lexington Park! While the temperatures were great, the rain made for a soggy landscape, and we saw our share of clouds, but that didn’t remotely dampen the energy or spirits of this wedding! (Plus, isn’t it lucky if it rains on your wedding day?) Luckily, the rain stopped for portraits and the ceremony. It didn’t start back up again until it was dark and the reception was in full swing.

Courtney and Alec met in college in their door at Salisbury University. The pandemic pushed back their engagement shoot, but I’m so happy they were able to get their wedding on their original date! Alec’s dad Tom officiated, and he opened the ceremony sharing their love story; everyone laughed while listening to Tom’s stories about Courtney and Alec.

I loved the bridesmaids’ blue dresses and the rustic wedding details. Courtney and Alec definitely planned a wedding that mirrored their personalities: it was simple, elegant, and fun. They rolled through the punches with the weather and didn’t let the rain damper their spirits remotely. It was the epitome of a perfect rustic Southern Maryland Wedding. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them, their families, and their friends!

Courtney and Alec, I hope you love reliving your day!

Note: Because I teach high school full-time, I can only take a handful of wedding each year. I have three booked for the spring and early summer, but if you are a summer or fall 2021 couple and are interested in booking me, I’d love to talk! You can fill out my wedding survey so I can get to know you better and give you a quote. Whether you want your own rustic Southern Maryland wedding or you want an elegant wedding in a Church in DC, I’d love to talk about documenting your day!

Meet Teresa

Hi. I’m Teresa. While photography is a part-time job for me, documenting your stories doesn’t ever get treated like it’s not important. My full-time gig is teaching high school English, journalism, and photography at an all-boys’ school in Washington, DC. Journalism is my favorite subject to teach because it is as much about writing as it is about the art of observing the world, and I became a photographer because of my experiences in photojournalism.

You’ll see in galleries with my families, children, newborns, or weddings, my style definitely is more about documenting connection and trying to create real moments. I love a good portrait, but my heart is happiest when I get real smiles from people loving on and playing with each other.
