You are drawn to a more classic editing style with an occasional pop of colors and an emphasis on connection and real emotions. You love details and genuine smiles. And you like that I’m a bit of a nerd, and you know that my background as a teacher means I’m very organized.

So the next step is setting up a time to chat to make sure we’re the perfect fit for one another.

Date Booked

You’ll reach out and tell me you’re interested. I’ll send you a survey to get a lot more details about your big day (and it’s OK if you don’t know all of it yet) and to learn more about you and your partner. I’ll also send over a contract. Once your date is officially reserved with a $500 retainer, I’ll send over a lot of additional information to help you prepare for the big day.

Engagement Session

Sessions can take place anywhere from immediately following a proposal to just a few days before the wedding. I’ve found that there isn’t a “good” or “bad” time to take your photos. Pick a location that means something to you and your partner, or give me a vibe, and be ready to move!

Wedding Day Prep

I’ll send you a timeline template and then check in about two months before the wedding to start chatting about timeline specifics, special details, family formal shot lists, special traditions and anything else I should know about your big day.

The Big Day

It’s finally here! The day the two of you say “I Do” and dance the night away surrounded by your family and friends. Just know I am so excited to celebrate and capture your wedding day. It’s going to be awesome. I do everything in my power to keep your day running smoothly, trouble shooting issues that arise, and making sure you and your partner have the best day ever!

They're Here!

I try my best to get an image up when I get home the night of your wedding. Depending on how far away your wedding is from my home, it may be the next day. Then, the week after, you can expect a bigger sneak peek of images on social media. Within eight weeks of your wedding day, your photos to be delivered via an online gallery. My goal is always to get it to you by your one month anniversary, but I say eight weeks just in case something happens that makes me off schedule. At that time, I’ll also send over details about ordering your prints and the process if you want to purchase any albums.

THE PERFECT WAY TO REMEMBER YOUR WEDDING DAY

I am a big believer that images aren’t meant to solely exist in a digital space. One day, most likely, Instagram will be gone, your phone will be replaced, and images that you can physically hold in your hand will be the best way to remember those precious moments captured.

Think about this fact: just 20 years ago, if I had delivered you digital images, they would have been on a floppy disk. With the fast updates to technology, you would have no way to access those images today.

One of the best ways to make your memories last is by ordering a book or an album. These high quality professionally designed books and albums come in a variety of linen & leather colors. These aren’t the same albums your parents’ wedding photos came in. They’re modern, lay perfectly flat and look incredible on a coffee table.

Books offer a more economic option for you and still allow those on a budget to have a family heirloom. Albums are made with with premium materials and are handcrafted while books have fewer options, thinner pages, and a simplified construction.

Wedding books and albums are available a la carte in addition to your wedding collection.

After I deliver your gallery, I’ll work with you to choose images and design a book or an album that will become an heirloom for your family.

Books and albums must be prepaid before design begins and typically take between 4 to 6 weeks to complete (including revisions).

With the exception of printing errors, all books and albums are non-returnable. They may be ordered anytime before or after the wedding day. A discount will be given for additional or companion copies.

Engagement Sessions

CELEBRATING A SEASON

Unless you’re a model, being photographed probably feels a little awkward. I do this for a living, and I still always feel a little out of place when we have our photos taken every year.

I am a huge fan of engagement sessions for a few reasons. First, they allow you to get comfortable in front of the camera. It takes time for most couples to warm up to being photographed and understand how I pose. Timelines can be pretty tight on weddings days and 30 minutes may be all we have for portraits – which is why engagement sessions are so important. They allow me to get to know your story and allow me to teach you poses so that we can be really efficient on your wedding day.

I have found that wedding day portraits and flow turn out so much better when couples do engagement sessions ahead of time.

Engagement sessions also allow you to showcase your personalities in a more casual setting that is significant to the two of you (and you can even include pets!) While they’re great for save-the-dates, I’ve taken engagement photos as early as eighteen months, but most are about three to nine months before the wedding.

All of my collections include a complimentary session.

WE LOVE YOUR WORK AND WANT TO BOOK. WHAT IS THE NEXT STEP?

Fantastic! To reserve your wedding date, I’ll need a completed survey about you and your partner, a signed contract, and a $500 non-refundable retainer. Reach out, and I’ll get the info to you! The remaining balance will be due 2 weeks before the wedding.

WHEN DO YOU CHARGE TRAVEL FEES FOR WEDDINGS?

I typically add travel fees on to any engagement session or wedding outside of a 60 mile radius from Washington, DC or my home in Sunderland, Maryland. Fees vary depending on location so ask me for more details.

HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL WE RECEIVE?

Galleries typically include anywhere between 800 and 1200 photos. The exact amount varies from wedding to wedding. Your online gallery will come loaded with fully edited high resolution images you can print anywhere. You’re also welcome to share your wedding photos on Facebook as long as you credit me and link to my website.

WHEN SHOULD WE SCHEDULE OUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION?

Whenever you would like! I can schedule you immediately upon booking, or if you’re from out of town, I can schedule something if you are coming in for planning or a shower or, we can even do something closer to the wedding day.
