Southern Maryland Family Photographer | The M Family

As a Southern Maryland family photographer, I cherish the opportunity to work with returning clients, and I was so excited that a family that I did a tree farm session with in 2019 chose a full hour long family session for 2020. The traditional sessions allow for so much more time for me to create authentic images that really showcase a family’s love and connection.

The mom of the M family actually suggested a location I had been dying to try! I love locations that give me variety; if you have been following my work, you know I love giving my clients different looks within the same location. I can’t say enough about how much I fell in love with this location. Because of lighting, it’s probably a better fall and winter location. Access closes early, I think, making summer sessions here a bit more challenging, but I plan to look into it.

I know many photographers get nervous about family sessions with older children, but it’s completely possible to get them snuggling, smiling for real, enjoying time with their family. Prompts and being directive go a long way!

Because I take on my journalism class in the spring semester and have an extra class of students, I have to really limit the number of sessions I take each month during second semester so life doesn’t get insane for me on the teaching front or for my family in the mom stress front. I can take just one more session in January and just one more in February. However, if we end up having snow, I may offer some super short minis!

Since I am starting to get booked pretty early, get on my calendar now if you want a session! Visit my contact page here or e-mail me at teresa@tcjdesign.com. And if you’re new around here, visit the Meet Teresa link to get to know me! My friend Minna just recently did some amazing branding shots for me, so you’ll see me a bit more in my feed!

And I promise to update my blog a bit more frequently. Fall was insane… so I’ll be featuring some of my favorites from sessions this fall in the next few weeks!
