Maternity Session at Herrington Harbour | The P Family
When you have a kid, a maternity session ends up being more of a family session, but that’s ok! Melissa’s first maternity session for Paisley was where she and her husband were engaged, and they went for where they were married for kiddo number two, holding their maternity session at Herrington Harbour in North Beach, Maryland. The nursery is going to have a nautical theme, so I was excited that the maternity session would have that vibe, too!
As is clear from looking at the highlights from their session, Paisley ran the entire session, and her safety by the water took priority, so I didn’t get as many of mom and dad solo. We documented her running around the boardwalks and piers, and luckily, her dad was quick at watching her every move.
We used two locations at the marina for the maternity session at Herrington Harbour. We were so lucky for a warmer day at the end of February; I also appreciated the P family’s patience… I had received my second dose of my Covid vaccine just about 48 hours beforehand, and I had just about every side effect they say someone can get from it. I was still feeling pretty out of it, but if I looked as bad as I felt, they didn’t hint at it!
If you are thinking about scheduling a maternity session, I recommend scheduling it about halfway through the pregnancy and doing it at the start of your third trimester to about 35 weeks. I remember in the last few weeks of my pregnancy I didn’t feel great, I was more tired, and I didn’t love how I looked; I just felt huge. Scheduling it between these dates will let you remember yourself at your best toward the end. You can use my complimentary styling service, too, to help you get ideas for outfits for everyone who will be at the session.
