Air Force Promotion at Air Force Memorial | Bill’s Promotion

A military promotion is a special event, and often promotions aren’t just reflecting the hard work and dedication of the service member; the families make many sacrifices, too, in order for the military members to achieve those glowing performance reports that help them get promoted.

Today, I had the honor of capturing an intimate promotion at the Air Force Memorial for one of my favorite families. I knew Bill back with he was just a 1st Lieutenant, so I was honored to see him get the “Lt.” back in his title, becoming a a Lieutenant Colonel! We had an amazing cool, morning, which was unexpected for July 1!

Bill’s parents and in-laws both came in for the ceremony, and Bill and Lane’s sweet daughter Charlotte stole the show. It was an honor to listen his colleague share what accomplishments he has made in his Air Force career (also know what sacrifices he and his family have sometimes made to reach those accomplishments). Thank you for letting me be a part of your very special day. (And Lane, remember this is for you, too!)

As a military spouse, I get how important these military promotions are for the entire family, and if you are promoting during the summer, I usually have availability! If you are interested in booking a session, message me through my contact page or e-mail me at teresa@tcjdesign.com. And if you are interested in a family session, I still have summer openings! Contact me today!

WEDDING & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY FOR PEOPLE WHO want their story told

Hi. I’m Teresa. While photography is a part-time job for me, documenting your stories doesn’t ever get treated like it’s not important. My full-time gig is teaching high school English, journalism, and photography at an all-boys’ school in Washington, DC. Journalism is my favorite subject to teach because it is as much about writing as it is about the art of observing the world, and I became a photographer because of my experiences in photojournalism.

You’ll see in galleries with my families, children, newborns, or weddings, my style definitely is more about documenting connection and trying to create real moments. I love a good portrait, but my heart is happiest when I get real smiles from people loving on and playing with each other.
