STL Family Photographer | S Family in Forest Park

I love when I get repeat clients, but I didn’t expect to get any repeats in STL. I shot Ellie’s first birthday last January (and I have yet to blog about it…if you haven’t seen Korean birthday traditions, you need to check it out!). While her grandparents are local to the DMV and her mom originally was, they’re a military family, and I forgot they were stationed near St. Louis when her mom reached out wanting to take part in my fall minis!

I ended up weaving them in on Sunday evening, which is why there’s a bit of a different look if you saw my blog on my morning sessions at Forest Park. I think the almost two age might be my favorite to photography. I love the exploring and how easy it is to get those natural smiles. There’s little inhibition. Life is fun, and it’s easy to see love.

Stay tuned to see a recap of Ellie’s first birthday on the year anniversary of that shoot. Also, don’t forget while I don’t live in STL, I love photographing there! To find out when I’ll be in STL next or to get on my calendar in the DMV area, e-mail me today at teresa@tcjdesign.com or send me a message through my contact page! I’d love to capture your family or love story!

WEDDING & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY FOR PEOPLE WHO want their story told

Hi. I’m Teresa. While photography is a part-time job for me, documenting your stories doesn’t ever get treated like it’s not important. My full-time gig is teaching high school English, journalism, and photography at an all-boys’ school in Washington, DC. Journalism is my favorite subject to teach because it is as much about writing as it is about the art of observing the world, and I became a photographer because of my experiences in photojournalism.

You’ll see in galleries with my families, children, newborns, or weddings, my style definitely is more about documenting connection and trying to create real moments. I love a good portrait, but my heart is happiest when I get real smiles from people loving on and playing with each other.
