Erin + Charlie | Forest Park in Saint Louis
Erin has been an important person in my life for two and half decades. Making her giggle when she was two, singing the wrong words to Little Bow Wow, and hanging our heads upside down and calling it “funny hair” still reign as some of my all-time favorite memories in my life.
So naturally, I wanted to get to know her boyfriend Charlie better, and I wanted to build my portfolio with couples, so getting to photograph them allowed me the opportunity to do both!
Last year, I started second shooting weddings, and I loved the opportunity to learn from seasoned wedding photographers. I also learned how valuable a second shooter was to the flow of a wedding day. (Just for a side note: I won’t do a wedding without one. Look at my full wedding galleries. So much is going on when the lead photographer is getting all of the “must have” shots. Second shooters get to be creative and help tell the full story of a couple’s wedding day!)
While I loved second shooting, I realized I needed more hands on time with a real couple to work on posing and to build my portfolio. Luckily, Erin and Charlie obliged, coming in the middle of my Saint Louis mini sessions. And just to set the record straight for Erin, while these two are very much in love and a couple…they aren’t engaged (yet!).
Thank you Erin and Charlie for letting me experiment and use you to practice! It was freezing, and we only had twenty minutes, but I definitely realized I’m super jealous of all of those Saint Louis wedding photographers! Forest Park is a gorgeous venue! (And for the record, I’m happy to travel to Saint Louis for weddings, so to find out when I’ll be in Saint Louis next or to get on my calendar in the DMV area, e-mail me today at teresa@tcjdesign.com or send me a message through my contact page! I’d love to capture your family or love story!
