Maryland Family Photographer | L Family

As a Maryland family photographer, I feel like we see all sorts of weather. Today is rainy and cold, but just last week we were in the 90s despite it being early October. I’m not sure how, but my fall families so far have had amazing weather, and this family, in particular, ended up having the most magical weather for their family session. Golden hour proved to be beautiful for their September family session, which is great because we were really bundled up for their session last December!

I love play, and I suggested something this family had never done! This little guy had never been on his dad’s shoulders before this session! He was a bit nervous initially, but as you can see from the photos, he loved being up high.

This family’s session was very typical of how I run my family sessions! I love when families interact with each other. I try to have them play games, I want them to look at each other and connect! Once everyone is comfortable, I’ll tell everyone to look at me and will try to get some nice shots where everyone is looking at the camera, but my heart is happiest when I see people interacting with each other with genuine smiles.

I like to get different combinations with different backgrounds, and I really love to get some images of mom and dad solo when the kiddos are tired at the end! This is one of my sweetest families, and I can’t wait to photograph them again next year!
