Annapolis Family Session | The C Family

These long time clients finally did an Annapolis family session! We’ve explored a few venues in Calvert County, including their gorgeous home, but they wanted something different this time. I’m so incredibly thankful for clients who have stuck with me since the beginning; it’s hard to believe that this is the SIXTH year of TCJ Design!

I can’t emphasize how important styling is for a session, and A did great coordinating her family’s outfits. The blue and gray colors were perfect for an Annapolis family session. And you don’t have to spend a ton on styling. A shopped at Marshall’s for her dress and her oldest daughter’s dress, Target for her husband’s shirt, and Walmart for the girls’ shoes. My favorite piece, the youngest girl’s adorable dress, and A’s denim jacket all came from Amazon. My mantra for styling is simple: coordinate, don’t match. I have a styling service you can help to give you ideas, and it gives you links if you like the pieces; you can even upload photos of items you own to see what it all looks like together. Pick a color scheme and the work on finding pieces that coordinate and go well together. Pro tip: also consider the colors in your home so that your photos go with it! Texture, pattern, and a pop of color are all keys to successful styling.

I love giving clients a variety of locations so they have different looks. I have also found that with little kids, movement helps keep them fresh. A downside to Petite Sessions is that we usually only can do one location, but in my top package, the Premier Session, you get a bit of extra time and an entire gallery. One of the things I always look to with this family is how they include their au pair in every session. It’s been so fun to meet the women who have helped them take care of their girls each year.

If you looking at booking a session, I have some August and weekday availability, but the school year will get very crazy, and my time will be much more limited with weddings. I usually do book about three to four months out, if not more than that. Hop on over to my Contact Page, and try get on my calendar today! Leave a comment below and let me know which image is your favorite.

WEDDING & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY FOR PEOPLE WHO want their story told

Hi. I’m Teresa. While photography is a part-time job for me, documenting your stories doesn’t ever get treated like it’s not important. My full-time gig is teaching high school English, journalism, and photography at an all-boys’ school in Washington, DC. Journalism is my favorite subject to teach because it is as much about writing as it is about the art of observing the world, and I became a photographer because of my experiences in photojournalism.

You’ll see in galleries with my families, children, newborns, or weddings, my style definitely is more about documenting connection and trying to create real moments. I love a good portrait, but my heart is happiest when I get real smiles from people loving on and playing with each other.
