Santos Snow Maternity Session | Washington, DC Area Maternity Photographer

My longtime client turned friend asked back in November if we could do a maternity session in the snow. I was trying to honor my break and not work until January 19, but when I saw a decent amount of snow in the forecast, I sent her a message immediately, hoping she’d be game.

What I didn’t expect was that we may have issues with our location (a public park) being closed since schools were closed that day. I asked another local photographer if she knew the status on public parks being open/closed, and she offered us her land to use for the shoot!

I am so glad everything panned out because this shoot was just magical. Bhavna looked stunning. She and Carlos had amazing chemistry… and we all braved the snow and captured that gorgeous golden hour!

One thing that clients often ask me is when to get maternity pictures taken… it’s best to get them taken between weeks 30-34. You don’t want to feel uncomfortable or worry about looking too pregnant! Also, from my personal experience most complications seem to spark after that 34th week!

If you want to book a session, e-mail me at teresa@tcjdesign.com or visit my contact page. I am pretty transparent about my pricing, so you can find it here, but if you do book multiple shoots (like maternity, Fresh 48 and/or newborn session), I can create a special package for you if you ask!

WEDDING & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY FOR PEOPLE WHO want their story told

Hi. I’m Teresa. While photography is a part-time job for me, documenting your stories doesn’t ever get treated like it’s not important. My full-time gig is teaching high school English, journalism, and photography at an all-boys’ school in Washington, DC. Journalism is my favorite subject to teach because it is as much about writing as it is about the art of observing the world, and I became a photographer because of my experiences in photojournalism.

You’ll see in galleries with my families, children, newborns, or weddings, my style definitely is more about documenting connection and trying to create real moments. I love a good portrait, but my heart is happiest when I get real smiles from people loving on and playing with each other.
