Downtown Annapolis Family Photographer | Slack Family

Last year, I met Bridget from Bridget Slack Photography through a local Momtographer group. My husband was coming home from midtour, and while it wasn’t the end of the deployment, we were through the longest and hardest chunk, especially for my kids. I wanted to be in the moment, and I knew a lot of photographers volunteer to take homecoming photos (including yours truly!).

The photos Bridget gave me are ones my family will cherish forever as a testimony to how we survived one of the hardest years of our life. They remind us all how strong we are and how precious those 15 days in November of 2019 were.

I was thrilled when Bridget reached out to inquire about photos for her family. Our kids are same grades, just a few months older or younger. I was hoping desperately the tricks I use to get my three to comply would work with hers. (We even have an oldest girl followed by two boys and same name for the youngest!)

I had a lot of fun roaming downtown Annapolis with her and her family, and I won’t lie…I know she gets amazing photos of the kids with dad, so I really went out of my way to focus on her and the kids. (Sorry, dad!) Her middle kid, like my middle kid, was a performer for the camera. I could have posted a blog with his images alone. He was on for me!

Thank you so much Bridget for taking our photos, and be sure to check out her gorgeous work over at Bridget Slack Photography!

If you are interested in booking a session, message me through my contact page or e-mail me at teresa@tcjdesign.com. I finish teaching at the end of May and have a decent amount of summer availability yet!

WEDDING & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY FOR PEOPLE WHO want their story told

Hi. I’m Teresa. While photography is a part-time job for me, documenting your stories doesn’t ever get treated like it’s not important. My full-time gig is teaching high school English, journalism, and photography at an all-boys’ school in Washington, DC. Journalism is my favorite subject to teach because it is as much about writing as it is about the art of observing the world, and I became a photographer because of my experiences in photojournalism.

You’ll see in galleries with my families, children, newborns, or weddings, my style definitely is more about documenting connection and trying to create real moments. I love a good portrait, but my heart is happiest when I get real smiles from people loving on and playing with each other.
