As a Southern Maryland maternity photographer, I was so excited to have a maternity session at Jefferson Patterson Park back at the end of November, and last Friday I was so excited to meet the cute little baby in that belly! We were so lucky to have perfect weather, awesome golden light, and amazing chemistry between this adorable couple.
I loved that C had two different outfits for VERY different vibes that worked with her location. Their session was everything I love about any session: a gorgeous backdrop and light, movement, and connection. I love getting to know my clients and hear their story. The journalist in me loves the storytelling that comes with documenting each couple, family, and wedding.
This adorable couple had connections to Calvert County, but they just moved back. Something to know about me that a lot of people don’t really know: I am really an outgoing introvert, and I hate large group activities. I don’t do well having to chat with people when I’m at a huge event with my husband’s work, but the storyteller and journalist in me loves loves loves meeting families and couples in small groups. There are so many times that I leave a session and think: I’d love to be friends with this couple or family. This couple was one of those! I just adored C and J!
So a few things you should know about maternity sessions. First, if you need help with styling, I have a styling service that will give you ideas! It’s complimentary when you book a session with me. Second, I like doing them at the beginning of the third trimester until about 35 weeks. From my own experience, I didn’t feel great after that, and I want to keep my moms-to-be safe so there’s that little sweet spot.
