Historic Londontown Engagement Session
One year later, and I’m finally writing about this Historic Londontown engagement session with R+W. I was walking around with two of my kids and one of my dogs today while my other kiddo was in baseball practice. Everywhere, I saw purple flowers sprouting out of the grounding and immediately, it reminded me of R+W’s Historic Londontown engagement session. I love Historic Londontown for so many reasons, and photographing a wedding there is definitely on my bucket list!
I love the variety it gives; they say something is always in bloom, and if you are willing to spend the small fee to use the venue before or after it opens to the public, you can luck out with gorgeous open paths, pretty light, and a variety of backdrops. You also get a clean bathroom to change clothes in and touch up any makeup, which I know my client appreciated!
After doing weddings for a few years, I realized the flow for me on wedding day is so much better if I do a session with the couple beforehand. In that session, I get to know them as people, hear their love story rather than just reading it, and practice all sorts of moves and poses. It allows them to give me feedback on their favorite images. At R+W’s wedding, we replicated a number of their favorite images from their Historic Londontown engagement session.
Engagement sessions help the flow of wedding day so much. If a couple doesn’t want to do one with me, I know we’re not a good fit and that we don’t prioritize the same things; the engagement sessions are a must for me! I love getting to know my clients as people, and I love making sure I am making them happy on wedding day, and the engagement sessions let me do that.
