Sunflower Mini Session | Calvert County Lifestyle Photographer
So while I’ve been trying to cut back on photography, I just couldn’t resist sunflowers. I had been hunting for some last summer, but everything I found was too far away. Then, I came across an event on Facebook with the Accokeek Foundation featuring their Sunflower Days. One of my best friends from college was in town so after trekking around the Mall downtown, I forced my entire sweaty family to check out the field in Piscataway Park.
No one was there, except a farmer, and it was gorgeous. I didn’t have the right lens on my camera, but I made my three kiddos be my models to see how the flowers looked. Minus them being sweaty messes, the picture I took of them playing ring around the rosey is one of my favorites.
I had a client looking for a maternity session in a pretty location. I knew this sunflower field was perfect for that, but I had hoped to share the field with more people looking for a unique backdrop for lifestyle family and children’s sessions. I was pleasantly surprised at the interest after posting in a few places.
I was hoping to retake my kiddo’s photos, but the oldest took a monster long nap, so instead I just had four adorable families. Harper had a milestone shoot, Sarah and Tate had a mommy and me/1st birthday milestone session, the Johnsons had their family photo shoot ever, and my longtime clients Mason and Caleb updated their sibling photos. I had such a blast with these families in such a gorgeous sunflower field!
I’m cutting back on sessions, so if you want to book a session for this summer yet, I only have one or two August openings! E-mail me at teresa@tcjdesign.com. Take a look at my package page to see what type of session may be best for you!
