Session at Anne Marie Sculpture Garden | Krista from Garrett Music Academy’s Head Shots

Krista from Garrett Music Academy reached out to me for a head shot session, but she wanted something unique. Her goal was to use the images for podcasts, website, social media. When she initially reached out, the state was still in lockdown and photographers were just starting to be able to take photos again. I was nervous that we wouldn’t be able to find a place that matched the vibe she wanted because of lockdown. She had recently been at Anne Marie Sculpture Garden with her kids and suggested it as a possible venue.

I had been to Anne Marie Sculpture Garden with my own family a handful of time, but I hadn’t done a shoot there. I thought it had distinct potential, though, for fun and unique.

It did not disappoint. We didn’t spend a lot of time there, but I was confident that the I could use the large rock formation to give her that unique look she wanted. Her gallery reminded me more of an album cover rather than a headnshot session. Her idea for a session at Anne Marie Sculpture Garden worked perfectly!

To book your session at Anne Marie Sculpture Garden or at any other outdoor venue, just visit my contact page or e-mail me at teresa@tcjdesign.com. Right now, I’m only booking sessions for June and July, and please know that I will be abiding by state and county laws for sessions, so if there is a covid-19 spike again and a stay-at-home order is re-issued with non-essential businesses closed again, I will be following those orders.

WEDDING & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY FOR PEOPLE WHO want their story told

Hi. I’m Teresa. While photography is a part-time job for me, documenting your stories doesn’t ever get treated like it’s not important. My full-time gig is teaching high school English, journalism, and photography at an all-boys’ school in Washington, DC. Journalism is my favorite subject to teach because it is as much about writing as it is about the art of observing the world, and I became a photographer because of my experiences in photojournalism.

You’ll see in galleries with my families, children, newborns, or weddings, my style definitely is more about documenting connection and trying to create real moments. I love a good portrait, but my heart is happiest when I get real smiles from people loving on and playing with each other.
