Calvert Marine Museum Wedding | M + C

Historically, I have had a lot of early September weddings, and this week, two, including this one, popped up in my Timehop so I know it was time to get this Calvert Marine Museum on the blog so it can live permanently on my website. What made this one special is that I have worked with the bride at my school for many years, and she has been like an aunt to my kids, so this one was particularly special. I even live on in these photos!

The couple was being very budget conscious, and a Calvert Marine Museum wedding gave them the uniqueness they wanted, kept them on the water, offered a great backdrop close for portraits, and an intimate setting for them to enjoy their family and friends. The bridal suite had great light, and they scored a great rental nearby where the guys were getting ready.

On a teacher budget, M kept things simple. Small wedding party. She used a local Amish florist. Details were meaningful but not pricey. It was a 100% Calvert Marine Museum wedding. They didn’t have to leave the grounds even. Kids and guests even got to enjoy the otters! Trends she did that I love: first look with dad and groom. They were able to knock out some portraits with the family early since they had already seen each other and get some photos together while makeup and hair were fresh. That meant the only had to sneak away briefly during cocktail hour and were able to enjoy at least half of it! I know there is something magical about a first look during the ceremony, but logistically it gives you so much more time with your guests to do one and get some photos out of the way before the ceremony!

Check it out if you are looking for something unique for your wedding. I still have openings for 2026 for both weddings and family sessions, so please consider reaching out to me at teresa@tcjdesign.com if you are interested in booking a session.
