Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens Engagement Session

If you have not been to the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, then you are missing out, and this Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens engagement session will show you why! I have lived mostly in the Washington, DC area since 2007 with a brief four years where I lived in St. Louis and San Antonio, and I hadn’t been myself. The place was jumping when I arrived with photographers taking photos of the blooms, and they even had volunteers in the water cleaning the gardens!

I was so happy my couple wanted to try this location and oh my…what a gorgeous morning! When I look for sessions, I look for a few things: that I can get a variety of looks in a few spots, locations that allow me to be creative as an artist, and most important, locations that mean something to the couple! Doing a Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens engagement session checked all of the boxes!

I loved that I could find things for creative framing and play with reflections in the water. We were so incredibly lucky that we found a flower that was on the ground and were able to play with that for a few creative ring shots!

So what’s next on my bucket list for engagement sessions? I have been dying to do one at the Smithsonian Gallery of Art in Washington, DC and on the ground of the National Cathedral. Engagement sessions are just part of how I run my business; they are complimentary but I really like for my clients to use them so I can get to know my couples and so I can see what poses works for them and what they like so we can make the most of any time we get for portraits on wedding day. If you do choose a location that has a permit, you would need to purchase that yourself.
