A hidden gem in Prince George’s County on the photography location front is Rosaryville State Park. With its close proximity to Joint Base Andrews, it makes an ideal location for families who live on base that want a rural backdrop for their sessions. There are great open fields and barns; we even lucked out this session and found some huge hay bales to weave into Maria’s maternity session.
Way back in January, Maria and I started chatting about her maternity session. Initially, I thought it was going to be with her four older children, and then I thought it was just her and husband, so needless to say I was a bit surprised when she showed up solo with just her mom.
I so admired her for wanting to do something like this to commemorate her fifth pregnancy. I was a bit worried that after she was put on bed rest our session may not happen, but I am so glad we made it work. It was definitely one of my all-time favorite sessions. Everything was right…she had found a simple, gorgeous dress (pretty sure it was an Amazon deal) and we chased that light to get some gorgeous sunset pictures.
I am not going to lie; I love shooting families, but it was a lot of fun to work with just one person for an hour! This momma just glowed, and I was lucky enough to also capture the lifestyle, newborn session for her Baby Rose!
